The majority of this site is devoted to Suds, my mini-soap opera about Love & Drama among college coeds. To read Suds from the very beginning, which I hear is a very good place to start, click on the Suds - It's not your average soap opera label immediately below this message. Scroll all the way to the bottom, click older posts, and read from bottom up.
I have on occasion written about my thoughts and feelings, but I try to keep that to a minimum :o)
Meanwhile, there are typos ahead. I think there's a certain charm to imperfection. And, if I were completely honest, I'd admit that sometimes, I just don't have time to edit. ;o)
I am a 29 year old mommy of a very active six year old boy. I used to teach young adults about God. Now, I'm just waiting for my next assignment. Hmmm...I am an eternal optimist -- even when someone should kill off optimism and bury it -- who strives to believe the best in every situation. And God is my Everything.
Shantel - The beautiful Vanessa Simmons, daughter of Rev Run (Run'sHouse) and actress from The Guiding Light. Every time I think of Shantel, this is who I see.
Leilah - Only Zoe Saldana... period. I really love her work. The range of her acting from angry with an attitude on Centerstage to loveable in Drum Line. She is all I see when I think of Leilah.
Sheilah - Leilah's Mom who unfortunately is addicted to drugs would be Thandie Newton. Why? Because her acting in Beloved convinces me that she could rock the role of an addicted mother. And it helps that she looks a little like Zoe Saldana too :o)
Darien - Think Barbershop and Their Eyes Were Watching God. His name is Michael Ealy, and he happens to be gorgeous.
Terrance - I can't really see him yet. I'll have to let you know later.
Lalique - Since my cousin/baby sister insisted on having a character named after her, I can only see her. See episode 4 comments for her picture. Disclaimer - The Lalique character on Suds is in no way a reflection of the real life Lalique. Remember this when the character starts to lose it :o).
Mira - Leilah's best bud and staunch HIV/AIDS awareness advocate. I actually created this role for Meagan Good because I think she's capable of more complex roles than 'the girlfriend'. So, I've taken it upon myself to create a role for the pretty chic. A role so comlicated, that I'm battling with myself to develop the character. Stay tuned because this bubble bath is becoming more like quick sand.
Jack D. - Leilah's fifteen year old brother will be played by none other than Lil Romeo, son of Master P. Like I said in episode 25, I was a serious Master P. fan when I was 16. My favorite song was 'Bout it, Bout it.' I remember rewinding my cassette to write down all the lyrics of the song. "Bounce, Bounce, Bounce fool if you Bout it Bout it." Oh yeah, and Lil Romeo is a great actor too. Loved him on Honey, and saw him recently on one of those kiddie soap operas. My boy can definately handle the roll of Jack D.
Yeah, So that's just a glimpse of all the people dancing across my mind. Sorry for the cryptic character descriptions. I'm trying to say as much as I can without writing a novel... LOL!!
Rub-A-Dub-Dub, what are people saying about Suds?

"The way you make these people that are just thoughts come to life... it’s interesting how they can have conversation with each other and they’re not real people. Like a movie or something I can’t really explain it but I like it." ~Antonio G.
"I love Suds!... I read you latest entry and go back to work feeling a little more energized. And I print it out and share it with one of my patient's who's always reading Harlequin romances. By the way, she thinks Suds is better than anything they write... you've got two big fans here in the western burbs. Keep those episodes coming." ~Pat D.
"I LOVE Leilah! Shantel is psycho and I cant wait to see what she does next!! If ya'll dont know by now SUDS is what's up!!!" ~ Lalique P. (The real one)
